Andreas Bernard is Professor for Cultural and Media Studies at Leuphana University, Lüneburg. As a journalist, he has been a staff writer for the German newspapers Süddeutsche Zeitung, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and DIE ZEIT. His book publications in English include: Lifted: A Cultural History of the Elevator (2014), The Triumph of Profiling: The Self in Digital Culture (2019), Theory of the Hashtag (2019).
